Week #13 - Completing our Synthesis Essay

Hello Sophomores,

Thank you for checking the blog.  Here is the outline for the week.

Progress Reports will be distributed at the end of the week.
Advocate for yourself.  Any concerns you have should be addressed immediately at the appropriate and designated time.

Tutoring/Office Hours - Tuesday after school
* Essay Workshop - Tuesday.  Come get the assistance and help you need to ensure your success!

Due Dates:
Nature of Man Synthesis Essay - Due Friday.  No Late Work will be accepted.  No excuses.
Independent Reading - Book completion and critique/mind map due Friday 5/17

Extra Credit:
Poetry Club on Wednesday at lunch - attend/share
Tissues/Printing Paper - value TBD

Monday - Assessment
* Poem - The Hangman
* We will read the poem as a class.  You will then annotate and answer questions independently.  This will count as an assessment grade.  Be ready to bring your best critical thinking!

Tuesday
* Unofficial WRG.  You will write, edit, share, revise with your group. 
* Sit together, write together, ask questions.  Have your rubric with you.  Evaluate your sources. Proofread and get feedback. Use this time efficiently.

Weds/Thurs - CST Testing.  Your class will only meet on ONE of these days
* Unofficial WRG.

* This will be your last day to work on your writing before it is due on Friday.  Be diligent.

Friday
* Nature of Man Essay DUE
* Gallery Walk - Time to celebrate our unique voices and insight!

Work hard this week.  Your classwork and your essay will be evaluated closely and will contribute immensely to your final semester grade. We will be transitioning to our poetry/spoken word unit on Monday 5/6.  Be ready to have some fun these last few weeks!
