Sophomores - Continue to use the mentor text - "The BFG" - to inspire your own story.  Use aspects of the story and then try on that writing style to accommodate your character appearance and personality. Use class time - be ready to share your piece on Monday.

1. What did you learn from the film? Who do you admire/respect? Why? (Your thoughts/examples/connections)
2. What impact did the project have on the students at Whitwell? How did they grow? What did they learn?  How did this impact the community?
3. What legacy did the students create? 
4. What message(s) did the filmmakers want us to come away with? (Issue/Claim/Quotes) 
5. One of the issues in the film is "intolerance" - name calling/bullying is a form of this. How should we respond to name calling?  Is it right to fight back? 
6. Many of the Holocaust survivors have lived with unsettled issues (PTSD) yet did speak with hate in their heart. How do we deal with hate?  How do we let it go?
7. Does forgiveness make us weak?  Does it make us stronger? How can people deal with these emotions in a positive way?
8.  How does "Paper Clips" connect (for YOU) to Elie's story "Night"?
