This is your FINAL for the Semester.  Your portfolio will showcase the writer you are become as this year transpires.  There is a ton of creative and artistic freedom with this assignment, so I urge you to really put in the time and effort to indicate your understanding and connections to the work.  

Make sure you meet each component.  Use the checklist to assist you.  Use your drafts, notes, handouts and the poems/songs we covered to help you explore ideas.  There is plenty to discover – you are not limited to space at all.  Incorporate artwork, pictures, music, and/or photography.

Gather Yourself Day

Hello Seniors!

Let's continue to gather ourselves and refocus as we get set for the next round of slams.  Begin to get your portfolio together.  You will be receiving a checklist shortly.  However, it is no different than your first semester portfolio. You already know the expectations and what will constitute for quality evaluation.  Please allow this to be a final gathering of evidence as your growth as a writer.

Slam Quarterfinals - Day TWO

Slam Season Starts! First Round Bouts Begin!

Welcome to the Annual Spoken Word Slam!

You are part of something special.  Every year students work towards this event to showcase their stories, their words, and their world.  You are brave and courageous as both presenters and audience.  This medium takes community and we have certainly cultivated this...so here we are.

We begin our Quarterfinal Bouts - here are today's Line Ups.  The winner of each bracket will advance to the Semi Finals.  The team with the highest total (who does not win their bout) will advance as a Wild Card Time.  The Winners of the entire Slam will earn an A for the semester.
