Week #9 - What is the Human Condition?

Hello Sophomores,

This is a short week and Spring Break is approaching.  Let's work hard so that we can play hard!

If you are concerned about your grade or want to discuss any specific assignment(s) - then please advocate for yourself and come visit during Office Hours/Tutoring on Tuesday after school.  If you need assistance with "Night" or any related assignments - please do not hesitate.

Due this week:

Independent Reading Selection Project - Mind Map or Critique - DUE WEDS.
NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Again, please do not write a summary of your book. Concentrate on theme(s), characterization, and/or author style and choice.  Your critique must be typed with multiple paragraphs and must contain very few errors.  Anything short of this - will hinder your grade severely.  Mind Maps must show true and authentic effort.  See the variety of examples outside of class to see the differences.  ALL BOOKS checked out from the CLASS Library (my books) must be returned on WEDNESDAY.  Please make sure to check it in and mark your name off the list.

FF/WRG are on THURSDAY this week.  Please come prepared with typed copies, questions/concerns to discuss, and a want to improve your creative writing - as well as assist others in doing so.  Please show up ready.  Failure to do will result in a ZERO.

Monday
* Authority Activity
* "Night" - Chapter 3,4 Reading Quiz
* "Night" - Ch.3,4 discussion
* Theme Tracker work check - get your stamp.  Be prepared to share and discuss quotes and interpretations.

Tuesday

Wednesday

Thursday
* FF/WRG - Please be ready share, ask questions, and discuss with authenticity.

Enjoy Spring Break.  Spend time with family and friends.  Regain your focus for our last NINE weeks of the school year.  You are smart and talented - bring your best efforts always.

You must read Chapter 6 and complete the Theme Tracker for "Night" - this will be checked for credit on Monday 4/8.

We will finish reading "Night" and will resume our Human Condition Unit when we return. Be ready to work hard.  You will receive the prompt for your final paper for this unit.  It will be due on Monday 4/29.  Rememebr that this is a Synthesis unit - you will be utilizing all of our resources to provide evidence for your claim.

Be good.
